This videotape was produced to
document the implementation and development of
(5) family literacy models in Montana. The purpose
of the video is to illustrate the various ways
a comprehensive family literacy program could
be implemented into your community.
Each of the five communities showcased in the
video delivered a four-component family literacy
program that included (a) early childhood education,
(b) adult basic education or adult literacy, (c)
parent education and (d) parent and child time.
These communities did not receive Even Start federal
funds so they didn't have the intensity of services
required of Even Start programs. The videotape
also identifies some of the challenges that the
projects faced while trying to use a collaborative
approach to program delivery with limited extra
funding.
