Graduation Matters Montana Summer Summit - Save the Date

Monday, April 30, 2012, 9:01 am
SAVE THE DATE! GMM SUMMIT – July 23 & 24, 2012
A core strategy of Graduation Matters Montana is to encourage locally-designed, locally-implemented initiatives that are informed by what works right here in Montana. Please join us for our first statewide Graduation Matters Montana Summit July 23 & 24, 2012 in Helena. The Summit will feature workshops and presentations on current research, successful Montana efforts, and lots of opportunity for sharing your good work. Please take this GMM Summit Survey to tell us what topics you want covered.
We’re thrilled that Bob Wise, president of the Alliance for Excellent Education and former governor of West Virginia, is joining us for a keynote address. The Alliance, among other things, provides state-specific economic analyses of the impact of students not graduating and not attending college. We also plan to release our Graduation Matters Business and School Partnerships Toolkit at the Summit, a project funded by State Farm Insurance to help equip schools and local businesses with strategies and tools to ensure successful collaborations on local GMM initiatives.
We are currently looking for examples of successful school and business partnerships to include in the toolkit as case studies. If you have a great example, please contact Deb at dhalliday@mt.gov. We would like to feature successful partnerships from large and small schools, rural and urban.
The Summit will be held at the Best Western – Great Northern in Helena. Registration details to follow. All GMM grantees are required to send at minimum a team of three representing their school-community collaboration to the GMM Summit to share lessons learned.
