The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation recently awarded the Office of Public Instruction $450,000 over three years to support Graduation Matters Montana, a statewide network of locally-designed, community-driven efforts to increase the number of Montana students who graduate from high school ready for college and careers in the Montana workforce. Support from the Washington Foundation will allow the Office of Public Instruction to assist 10 to 15 new Graduation Matters communities each year for three years.  As many as 45 new communities will be added over the three-year timeframe.  Each community will be awarded up to $10,000 to replicate successful dropout prevention strategies.  Local education agencies are eligible to apply for funds. The application for the Graduation Matters Montana Challenge Fund and informational materials can be found on our website: http://graduationmatters.mt.gov.  For an informational webinar on the application, go to http://connect.opi.mt.gov/p28gqddbvda/.  Applications are due February 17, 2012, and announcements will be made by March 19, 2012.
