GEMS Data WarehouseMonday, April 2, 2012, 9:43 am
The Student Achievement domain in GEMS went live March 12, 2012! Many school and district users have been accessing the web portal with their secure usernames and passwords and the OPI has received a lot of positive feedback. For those who have questions on access and/or username and password, contact the OPI Security Officer, Mary Graff at email@example.com or the GEMS Help Desk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Design and Development of the next iteration of GEMS, Student Characteristics, has begun and is planned to be released in early summer. This set of data will include enrollment, homeless, neglected and delinquent, migrant and limited English proficient students as well as programs and course offerings.
Additionally, the GEMS Project Team is happy to announce dates and locations for our summer regional training sessions! The training will be presented by our contractors, Aspect Software, an OPI Data Analyst, and a member of the GEMS Project Team. Lastly, to reiterate what GEMS is... GEMS is a web portal that uses business intelligence tools to provide varying levels of access to the data schools and districts report to the OPI. No new data is being collected for GEMS, GEMS requires NO input of data and GEMS is not replacing AIM or any other operational system maintained by the OPI.
As always, thank you for your support and feedback on this exciting new project!!!
