Since 1988, the Montana Traffic Education Association (MTEA) has honored an "Outstanding" Traffic Education teacher with an annual teacher of the year (TOY) award presented at the organization’s spring conference. Any active teacher who has devoted a good part of their teaching career to traffic education is eligible to apply. Teachers can self-nominate or be nominated by someone who is familiar with their traffic education accomplishments.

Download the nomination form at MTEAOnline.org.  Nomination forms must be postmarked no later than February 15, 2013.  The award will be presented at the 2013 MTEA/OPI Traffic Education Conference, April 28-30 in Great Falls.  Recipients of the award are expected to give a presentation on best practices or a topic of their choice at the following year’s MTEA conference.
