Four regional trainings of Keeping Schools & Kids Safe have been scheduled by the OPI's HIV Prevention Education program.  In addition to an HIV "101", the one-day training provides teaching strategies for sexual health respect, reasons for abstinence, decision-making and critical-thinking skills and lesson plans that address bullying and other prevention education messages. Policy for communicable disease and bloodborne pathogen safety will be disseminated.  Each training includes a working lunch and is offered for 6 renewal units.  The training is appropriate for K-12 classroom teachers, and educators of health enhancement, family and consumer science, biology, counselors and administrators.  The training is held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following sites:

  • Butte - October 3 - Best Western Butte Plaza Inn
  • Bozeman - October 4 - Wingate Inn
  • Missoula - October 17 - Best Western Grant Creek Inn
