This webinar is appropriate for schools and community members who are interested in learning general information about the HUSSC.  Find out how the HUSSC creates a school-wide commitment to student wellness through enhancing nutritious food and beverage offerings, and strengthening nutrition education and physical activity opportunities.  Hear from Montana award winners on the benefits of taking the challenges and their tips for success.  Registration details are available at

  2. The other training session, How to Succeed in Taking the HealthierUS School Challenge Training Session,  is designed for School Food Service Directors, Health Enhancement Teachers and School Administrators who are planning to apply for a HUSSC Award.  The training will be held on Thursday, October 21st, 2010 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am via interactive video conferencing at four sites:  Helena, Billings, Great Falls and Missoula.  This working session will teach participants how to successfully meet the criteria for the HealthierUS School Challenge award program.  It will focus on meeting the lunch menu and snack criteria, nutrition education and physical activity requirements.  Participants are encouraged to bring a month of lunch menus that they want to evaluate for meeting the criteria.  Schools are welcome to bring a team of people (school food service, health enhancement and/or an administrator.)

The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required. Registration forms will be available the first week of October and will be available from MT Team Nutrition and posted on the School Nutrition Program website.  For more information, call (406) 994-5641 or email Molly Stenberg at
