Cook Smart to Help Kids Eat Smart: Workshops for School Food Service Cooks
Monday, March 1, 2010, 9:57 amThe MT Team Nutrition Program will be offering regional training workshops, Cook Smart to Help Kids Eat Smart in Billings, Glendive, Helena and Malta.
These workshops will provide training on food preparation techniques and menu planning tips to help schools serve meals and snacks that meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA regulations. Cooks will learn "cooking smart" tips to reduce fat, sugar and sodium while increasing fiber, flavor and eye appeal. The target audience is food service managers, cooks and cook's assistants. The five hour training will include a lunch meal. The workshops are free but pre-registration is required and limited to 20 participants per site.
