The Accreditation and Educator Preparation (AEP) Division is delighted to announce the recent hire of Patty Muir to serve as an accreditation compliance specialist. Patty holds an active Montana license and endorsement in Elementary Education and PK-12 Special Education. She earned a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Education and has taught both elementary and special education children for 33 years. Based on her depth of experience, expertise, and demonstrated leadership abilities, Patty was appointed to the Certification Standards and Practices Advisory Council (CSPAC), a position she held for five years. Most recently, Patty Muir worked as a special education compliance monitor for the Office of Public Instruction.
Patty Muir is committed to the overall success and improvement of Montana schools. She focuses on finding solutions to tough situations and issues. She also seeks innovative methods and strategies to proactively work with Montana educators to support learning for all students. Patty, a consummate professional, is well suited for the position of accreditation compliance specialist.
Patty’s current assignments focus on the implementation of TEAMS, the former ADC process, and the revisions of the educator preparation program standards for K-12 endorsement areas, i.e., science, family and consumer science, music, school principal, students with disabilities K-12, etc.
