Upcoming Review of Montana Accreditation StandardsMonday, March 1, 2010, 10:04 am
A joint Board of Public Education and Office of Public Instruction (OPI) task force is being established to review Montana Accreditation Standards - ARM Chapter 55. The task force will consist of representatives from the Board, OPI, educational organizations, postsecondary, teachers, administrators, trustees and county superintendents. A nomination process has been initiated to solicit names of interested participants. Those selected for the task force will provide a broad representation of districts, schools and communities from across the state. More specifically, that representation will be reflective of school size, cultural diversity, special needs populations and geographic location.
Nominations are due by March 12, 2010. Anyone interested in serving on the task force needs to go to the following Web site and complete a nomination form.
Those selected will be notified by March 26, 2010. The first meeting of the task force is set for April 16, 2010, in Helena. It is anticipated that there will be five to eight meetings from April through November of 2010. The OPI will cover mileage, per diem, lodging and applicable substitute costs for task force members.
