"Through service-learning, students have unique opportunities to learn the value of teamwork and build critical thinking skills while completing service projects in areas such as education, public safety and the environment. Studies have shown that students who participate in such programs demonstrate increased civic and social responsibility and improved academic achievement.” - U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, June 21, 2005

“I can’t believe I am saying this, but I would rather be here working on this stuff than hanging out on the gut [Libby’s main drag] on Saturday nights. I can’t wait for the weekend to get over so I can get back in here to work. Boy, this changed me. Now I’m even planning to go to college.” - Service-Learning Student, Libby, Montana

“This class has been an amazing one for my daughter. This class opened her eyes to community service, public speaking, and teamwork. I saw her self-confidence increase by working on the various projects.” -Parent, Lockwood School
