February Project Highlight - Heart Butte

Mary Louise DeRoche reports:
* 2 district teachers will attend the National Youth Leadership Conference and be immersed in service-learning ideas!

* Mary Louise and two teachers will attend a summer learning conference in Albuquerque NM in April

* Directly following that conference, again in Albuquerque, they will attend a conference on Exemplary Schools in Reading and Math

* After-school Homework Club runs Tuesday-Thursday

* After-school swimming twice per month; parents act as additional chaperones

* In April an out-of-school-time program for grades 3-6 that fosters: creativity, teamwork, inventive-thinking skills and science literacy will be implemented. A fifth-grade teacher will teach this effort.
