- School systems review data on a secure online site.
- School systems contact OPI if they have questions.
- Final opportunity to review Iowa Test data before results are released
by the Office of Public Instruction.

- Last day for school systems to contact OPI with questions.

MontCAS, Phase 2: Summer 2007 CRT and CRT-Alternate Report Review

- Letter sent to authorized representatives
June 25 – July 6, 2007
- School systems will receive parent reports and folder labels.
- Measured Progress will post preliminary summary reports online on iAnalyze. The online reports will be stamped "preliminary." There will be no paper summary reports. All summary reports will be accessed online at iAnalyze.
- School systems will verify preliminary data and report discrepancies to OPI. since the demographic data for the CRt is directly from the OPI AIM student information system, only the following discrepancies can be resolved during this verification period: wrong schools, wrong grades, or misplaced student.
July 26 2007
- Final opportunity for school systems to contact OPI with questions.

| Overview |
MontCAS is the Montana Comprehensive Assessment System. It consists of several different statewide tests: CRT, ELP, and NAEP.
Phase 2
- The Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRT) are required and funded by the No Child Left Behind Act.
- Montana's CRT is published by Measured Progress, Inc.
- A criterion-referenced test (CRT ) compares student achievement to content standards. Montana's criterion-referenced test compares student achievement to Montana content standards.
- Montana's CRTs are administered in grades 3-8, and 10 in Reading and Mathematics.
- And, in the spring of 2008, science tests will be administered in grades 4, 8, and 10.

ELP
- The English Language Proficiency (ELP) assessment is required by NCLB for all students identified as Limited English Proficient (LEP).
- The ELP is published by Questar Assessment Incorporated.
- The ELP assesses LEP students for their English language proficiency to identify needs and drive educational change.
- The ELP is administered in grades K-12, with five grade spans (K, 1-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12).
- The ELP measures proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension (composite score based on listening and reading).
